to know about the Fellowship

The Young Leaders Business Fellowship (YLBF) is a structured, experiential business program for high school students in Grades 9–12, designed and delivered by AperioHub Advisory, a Singapore-based professional development provider.

Fellows engage with a real business problem in one of three professional tracks, work in small teams under structured guidance, and produce a business project deliverable over the two-week program period.

This is not a classroom course. It is a professional-style experience — structured like a real business project engagement — designed to build problem-solving skills, business acumen, and a genuine portfolio output that Fellows can reference in university applications and beyond.

AperioHub Advisory is a Singapore-registered firm founded by Manmohan Mall, a finance professional with 20+ years of experience at institutions including Standard Chartered, Citi, Macquarie, and ABN AMRO. He holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and is a UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School alumnus.

Since January 2026, AperioHub has run several university-level Business Analyst cohorts, with participants from 70+ US universities and 15+ countries — including Cornell, Duke, Northwestern, CMU, USC, UC Berkeley, LSE, and other leading institutions.

The YLBF is AperioHub's high school offering — purpose-built for a younger audience, with a structured framework (LEAP) and a hybrid in-person + virtual format.

Fellows choose one of three tracks at the point of registration:

• Banking & Finance — financial analysis, investment concepts, market research, and structured decision-making frameworks.
• Consulting & Business Strategy — problem framing, strategic analysis, stakeholder communication, and structured recommendations.
• Digital Innovation & Entrepreneurship — business model thinking, market opportunity analysis, and venture-style project work.

Track selection influences both the project brief and the peer group a Fellow works with.

LEAP is AperioHub's structured learning framework for the YLBF. It stands for Launch · Explore · Analyse · Present — representing the four phases of how Fellows work through their business project over the two weeks:

• Launch: Orientation, business fundamentals, track briefing, team formation, and project kick-off. Fellows receive their project brief and agree on how the work will be divided.
• Explore: Research, market investigation, and stakeholder framing. Fellows dig into the business problem and gather evidence to support their analysis.
• Analyse: Building the analytical framework, structured thinking, and drafting conclusions — the core intellectual work of the program.
• Present: Finalising the deliverable, refining the pitch, and presenting findings in a structured final session.

Yes. No prior business, finance, or economics knowledge is required. The YLBF is designed for intellectually curious students who want to develop structured thinking and real-world problem-solving skills — not students who have already studied business formally.

What matters most is a willingness to engage seriously with the project work, contribute to a team, and take structured guidance and feedback on board. The program provides all necessary frameworks and reference materials.

The program is open to students currently enrolled in Grades 9 through 12 (or the equivalent year group in any school system).

There is no minimum academic requirement or prior business experience needed. Registration is based on a completed enquiry/registration form and payment confirmation.

Registration is straightforward and managed directly by AperioHub:

• Submit the Register Interest form on the Fellowship page, with parent and child details, school, grade, and your preferred cohort.
• AperioHub will follow up with confirmation of track allocation (Banking & Finance / Consulting & Business Strategy / Digital Innovation & Entrepreneurship) and payment details.
• Complete payment — SGD 1,250 (net), or SGD 1,000 (net) if confirmed and paid by 30 June (Early Bird).
• Sign and return the participation agreement (parent/guardian signature required).

Two cohort windows are available for Summer 2026:

• Cohort 1: 13–24 July 2026
• Cohort 2: 27 July–7 August 2026

Both cohorts follow the same curriculum, format, and fees. Choose whichever window fits your family's summer schedule — the Register Interest form lets you indicate a preference (Cohort 1, Cohort 2, or Either), and AperioHub will confirm based on availability.

The Summer 2026 cohorts are hybrid programs based in Singapore. Fellows are expected to attend daily in-person sessions at the CBD co-working venue across the two-week period.

If your family is based outside Singapore but your child will be in Singapore during the cohort dates (e.g., travelling for the school break), they are welcome to register. Please confirm logistics with AperioHub before registering.

The YLBF may be applicable for IB CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) credit. CAS eligibility is determined by each school's CAS coordinator — not by AperioHub.

Fellows interested in this pathway should discuss with their school's CAS coordinator early. AperioHub can provide supporting information to help facilitate that conversation as needed.

Each Fellow is assigned to one of two daily batches:

• Morning batch: 10:00am – 2:00pm
• Afternoon batch: 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Each session is 4 hours, run on weekdays across the two-week program. Time is used for structured project work, learning practical AI tools for business, group collaboration, and pitch refinement, building towards the final presentation in Week 2.

In-person sessions are held at a JustCo co-working space in Singapore's CBD. JustCo operates multiple premium locations across the CBD — you can view their locations at justcoglobal.com/en-sg/locations. The confirmed venue address will be shared with registered families ahead of the program start.

The office setting is intentional — Fellows are working in a professional business environment, not a classroom. This is part of the experiential design of the program.

Fellows are grouped by track. Each group works on a shared project brief under that track. Groups are kept small to allow for meaningful collaboration and individual accountability.

AperioHub manages group formation. Fellows work with peers they may not have met before — which is part of the professional experience. Building effective working relationships quickly is itself a skill the program develops.

In-office sessions are scheduled on weekdays only, Monday to Friday, across the two-week program. Weekends are not structured program days, though Fellows may use that time to progress their project work independently or with their team.

Yes — and this is one of the most distinctive elements of the YLBF experience. AperioHub runs a parallel Business Analyst program for university students, with a cohort running concurrently in July 2026. Fellows will have facilitated opportunities to shadow and connect with current university participants during the program period.

These participants typically come from a range of top US universities — including Ivy League institutions and other highly sought-after programs. The specific mix depends on who is participating in the concurrent cohort, which means Fellows get exposure to students actually at the universities they may be aspiring to attend.

This is a peer connection that is genuinely hard to replicate outside of a structured program — and AperioHub facilitates it deliberately, not incidentally.

Subject to availability, Fellows may have the opportunity to participate in an introductory session at the Bloomberg Singapore office — a short experience giving Fellows exposure to one of the world's leading financial data and media platforms.

Fellows who complete the program receive two tangible outputs:

• Business project deliverable: A completed project output — a business plan or investment thesis built across the two weeks — that can be referenced in university applications, portfolios, and personal statements.
• Digital completion certificate: An AperioHub completion certificate, issued digitally and easily shareable on LinkedIn. Issued only to Fellows who fully complete the program.

In several concrete ways:

• Portfolio project: A completed, substantive business plan or investment thesis is far more compelling in a Common App, UCAS, or scholarship application than a list of activities. Fellows can speak to the problem they worked on, the approach they took, and the output they produced.
• Fellowship credential: "Fellow" reads as a selective, merit-based credential — particularly for applications to competitive universities where admissions readers look for students who sought out real challenges beyond the classroom.
• Peer access: Direct engagement with university students from 70+ US institutions — many at the same universities Fellows may be targeting — is an insight into university life, course choices, and application experience that most high school students simply do not have access to.
• Practical AI for business: Fellows learn to apply AI tools to real research and analysis — a skill increasingly valued in both university admissions and early career contexts.

There is no grading in the traditional academic sense — no exams, no grades, no pass/fail. The program is structured around professional performance, not academic scoring.

AperioHub observes and provides feedback on each Fellow's engagement and contribution throughout the program, particularly during pitch refinement and the final presentation. Fellows who participate actively and contribute to their project in good faith will have a positive and constructive experience.

The completion certificate is issued only to Fellows who fully complete the program. If a Fellow is unable to continue for any reason, please contact AperioHub as early as possible.

Refund terms apply based on when the withdrawal is made, relative to your Fellow's cohort start date:

• Written cancellation 10 or more calendar days before your cohort's start date: 50% refund of the program fee.
• Cancellation less than 10 days before start, or after the program has begun: No refund.

The program fee is SGD 1,250 per Fellow, net of applicable taxes. An Early Bird rate of SGD 1,000 (net) applies if registration is confirmed and paid by 30 June 2026, for either cohort.

This covers:

• Two weeks of structured project-based learning under the LEAP framework
• Daily in-person session access at a CBD co-working space
• AperioHub program facilitation and guidance throughout
• Practical AI for business sessions
• Digital completion certificate
• Business plan / investment thesis as the Fellow's own portfolio output

Travel to and from the venue is not included. Fellows are expected to bring their own laptop and personal stationery.

Fellows should bring a personal laptop (required for project work) and stationery for note-taking. The co-working space provides desks and WiFi.

Before the program starts, Fellows will receive an onboarding pack from AperioHub with the project brief, reference materials for their track, and instructions for accessing virtual collaboration tools. We recommend reviewing these materials in advance.

There is no formal dress code, but Fellows are expected to dress appropriately for a professional office environment. Smart-casual is the benchmark — comfortable but presentable. Overly casual clothing such as beachwear or flip-flops is not appropriate for the setting.
